Committee Members

Graham Kimbell G3TCT - Chairman

Graham was first licensed in 1964. His career started at RAE Farnborough in defence electronics and computer simulation, and progressed to Logica where he was a project and commercial manager and IT consultant. He is interested in 4m and 6m - working DX, contests, homebrew construction and propagation. He is a corresponding member of the RSGB Propagation Studies Committee.

Jeff Petch-Harrison M0PRF

Jeff has been madly keen on all things electronic for most of his life. His passion is 'steam radio' having collected and restored many stylish old valve sets. So it goes without saying that Jeff is an expert on fixing up old rigs!

David Edwards G8BFV - Club Secretary

David has been licensed as G8BFV since 1969 just when the G8s were allowed on 2 metres. David has a BSc in Computer Science and has worked first as a Software Engineer and then a Systems Engineer since the mid 1970s. He is now semi-retired after a long career including several years at the now defunct Thales Wells site.

Nick Bennett 2E0FGQ - Club Treasurer

Nick is a former broadcast engineer and now director of media production companies Media Concepts and TX Films. TX Films is responsible for producing the popular amateur radio TV Programme TX Factor. Nick also finds time to work as a freelance sound recordist for the BBC. He’s interested in all aspects of amateur radio and promises to take the Full licence in the very near future!

Brian Hooper G0FZI - Committee Member

Brian is a keen radio amateur preferring to work HF DX and 6 metres when the band is open. He was apprenticed at EMI in Wells where he worked as a prototype wireman for 30 years. Brian relaxes now by playing string bass with the Reunion Jazz Quartet. Brian is also an avid walker, although he tends to leave the rig at home!

Shaun Coles G0BKU - Committee Member

Shaun is a passionate amateur radio operator who likes to work DX, Worked All Britain, and other contest modes. Shaun returns to the committee after being our former Treasurer. Shaun is also a founding member of the Club.
